Hyatt Place San Antonio - Riverwalk

Nader was really kind when I needed help warming up my lunch, and he went beyond that by checking in on me now and then. Our room didn't have a microwave. Breakfast was adequate, and I appreciated having chicken sausage some days. We stayed with a friend in a room facing the Riverwalk. The river was being cleaned during our visit, but the view was still nice. The bathrooms are tiny, though rooms with showers only are available, and that's what I'd request. The hotel is cute, right on the Riverwalk, and close enough to restaurants. We'd come back if we're in the area.

The room never got cleaned, even after we contacted reception to confirm it was needed. We came back in the evening and had to complain again. Earlier, we'd spoken directly with housekeeping and found the cleaner didn't speak English, which made it hard to communicate. The lack of follow-through was frustrating and disappointing. We were booked at Hyatt Place for three nights, December 26 to December 29, 2025. The bathroom is very small and inconvenient for a longer stay. For a Hyatt property, I expected better coordination, communication, and service.

The Riverwalk is right out the back door, and the staff can answer questions and point you in the right direction. We stayed for a day to experience it. Check-in was so easy, with everyone at the front counter being awesome. Thanks for a great stay.

What stood out was the hospitality, especially from management. After Club Wyndham La Cascada basically threw us out, American Express Platinum found this place across the river. Even with our last-minute booking, they went out of their way to fit us in with nice accommodations. That's why I give it 5 stars. Good service matters most to me, and everything else can be negotiated. The rooms were nice and fairly spacious. The gentleman running the place took time to greet me personally whenever we crossed paths. There are useful security features too: gated parking and the elevators require a room pass, as does the rear lobby door from the San Antonio River Walk into the hotel.
