Marriott San Antonio Airport

We stay here several times a year, whenever we get the chance. It’s right off the freeway and in a great spot, about an 18-minute drive from SeaWorld. The rooms are nice, and we appreciate having a lounge with snacks and drinks. The front desk and breakfast staff are excellent, and the service team deserves a shout-out for great service.

Breakfast buffet and waitstaff were excellent, and the coffee was incredible. The location is convenient, and checkout was easy. Check-in was quick too, with friendly, efficient staff. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and the shower had strong pressure with plenty of very hot water. Best hotel experience we’ve had in a while!

The staff gave great service every time, and there’s plenty of room. The beds are very comfortable, and the bedside lamps have a soft orange glow that’s better for nighttime than harsh blue light. The shower water smells strongly of chlorine, and there weren’t any premium toiletries such as a facial cleansing towelette. The coffee setup felt a little cheap: just one regular serving, one decaf packet, and two creamers. The coffee maker wasn’t plugged in either. A bright detector light kept flashing at night and made it hard to fall asleep. The privacy blind’s pull cord is behind the blackout blind, so you have to open that blind first to reach it. The privacy blind should be closer to the window, behind the blackout blind. The towel hook is by the toilet, though it should be on the other side of the shower where someone steps out. Those issues are why I gave four stars instead of five.

We got good treatment as higher-tier Marriott loyalty members, including an upgrade, free snacks and breakfast, and a large room. It was a great deal using points. The hotel is clean, has an M-club, and the staff were great. The property shows a little wear but is in decent shape. The only real complaint was the very noisy AC in the living room area. Closing the bedroom door helped, though it would have been a problem if we’d had more people. All in all, a good stay.
