The room was much bigger here for the same money, so I prefer this hotel to the others nearby. The location isn't great, and I wouldn't go outside after dark. Still, with the heat we're having right now, I'd rather stay in here.

The manager himself was respectful and never rude, and the housekeeper deserves a big thumbs up. The room came with soap, shampoo, and two brand new toothbrushes, which I really appreciated. For this part of town, I expected roaches, but didn't see a single one, and it was very clean. One woman, maybe the manager's wife, was the exception: she was loud and annoying, kept yelling, and came across as very unprofessional. Everything else was great. Thanks, Safari Inn.

By the time we arrived, I'd already decided to take my family to another hotel in a well-lit area with other hotels around it. The exterior here was dirty, and the service was rude. We paid to cancel instead of staying the night. There was just one broken-down car in the parking lot, with busted windows covered in plastic bags. We could see a man sitting naked on his bed through open blinds, which was an immediate red flag. There was no proper lobby, just a small waiting area and a room with bulletproof glass. When the attendant came to the window, he couldn't access my reservation because he didn't have the password. It was 4:30 in the morning. I said I'd get coffee and come back, or someone could call to confirm the reservation. Nobody called.

I paid $70 to cancel a reservation that didn't even exist in their system. The man at the desk couldn't get into the computer because he didn't have the password, and although I asked him to call when someone who could access it arrived, nobody ever called. Outside was filthy, and there wasn't a lobby, just a tiny room with bulletproof glass between you and the front desk. Worst place ever.

We keep getting the same room whenever we come here, which doesn't bother us. At least we know what to expect for the night, and it's perfect for an overnight stay.
