Super 8 by Wyndham San Antonio at I-10

I was told the price would be $116, then charged $170 in cash. The room was disgusting, with a stale smell, dirty carpet and sheets, and bedbugs. It felt like a complete scam. Absolutely unacceptable. Stay away.

Beware and stay away. The rooms are horrible, and the service was very poor. I dropped off a friend around 6 a.m. and rented a room for him. The young man at the desk charged me $85 and said checkout was at 11 a.m. I was surprised there was no adjustment for such a short stay, but let it go. When I asked how much it would cost to keep the room longer, he said $75, with checkout at 11 a.m. the next day. So I understood that as $85 for several hours and $75 for another full day. My friend says they made him leave at 11. When we explained I’d paid for another day, the worker said I hadn’t paid. He refused to acknowledge that I’d paid for two days. I believe the young man working the office that morning lied and stole from me. His greed put my friend in danger and left several people in a bind. He should be ashamed.

I had to turn around and leave, and after I use my 10,000 points somewhere, I’ll close my Wyndham account. I’ve been a member for at least eight years. I’d stayed at this location twice before because it doesn’t charge a deposit, and I took two buses and walked over hoping to finally get some rest. On 10/04/25, after 4 p.m., the young man at the desk, around 25-29 years old, said there were no clean rooms. He also said the card machine wasn’t working, though I was booking a free night with points and wasn’t trying to use my card. The parking lot is usually mostly empty. This isn’t a great place, but I’m trying to save money, and I don’t believe in deposits for a one-night stay unless there are amenities I can use. None of the Wyndham hotels have ever given me the benefits I think Diamond members should get, so my debit card wasn’t necessary.

The rooms need major updates, so charging $50 a night for pets feels excessive. There were bug bites after our stay, though I can’t say for sure what caused them. The ceiling looked gross, and I couldn’t tell what was on the walls. I won’t stay here again. I saw the reply saying they take extra care cleaning rooms after pets, but if this is what extra cleaning looks like, people should stay far away. I also forgot to include a photo of the nasty AC filter. It was clogged, and they don’t change them.
