Super 8 by Wyndham San Antonio/Fiesta

The bed was okay to sleep in, though not very comfortable, and the service was decent. Beyond that, things were poor. The stairwell looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in months, the room floor was stained, and all the linens had a strange smell. The door was literally held together with black duct tape. The listing said breakfast was offered, but there wasn’t any.

The only good thing was that the hotel was close to where we needed to go. Our first room had live roaches crawling all over the walls and floor, so they moved us. The second room had soda cans on the bed frame, and when we woke during the night there were live roaches again, including on the beds. We told management, who said someone would inspect while we were out for the day, but nobody had gone in when we returned. We checked out. The carpets, elevators, and rooms throughout were filthy, and management wasn’t helpful. The place was beyond disgusting.

I regret staying here and would have paid another $20 to go somewhere else. The staircases and hallways were filthy, and the room carpet was dirty along the baseboards. There was hair all over the sink area, and the bathroom felt creepy, nasty, and extremely outdated. The tub had two holes, one patched with tape and the other left open. This is by far the worst review I’ve ever given. I don’t understand how this place is still in business.

The room was hot at 87°, damp, humid, musty, and smelled horrible. The bed and pillow had stains, and the toilet shifted whenever I sat down. As I walked in, I heard someone say, “It’s like being in jail.” I don’t know what they meant, but with the smell and the view, I could see why they said it. At checkout, the woman who was meant to be at the counter watched TV in the lounge and ignored me for five minutes. Then she asked, “What, do you need something?” I’ll never stay at a Super 8 again.
