The ocean view and sound were what made this stay special. From the sitting area you can look out at the water, and at night I could hear the ocean from our room. The price seemed great for those views, even though my photos don't show them properly. We had the kitchenette room with a tiny living area, which was charming and gave us a picture of what having our own apartment together might feel like. We were there for Valentine's Day and spent one night. The staff were friendly and helpful, and key-card access to the rooms made us feel safe. Sunset Cliffs was within walking distance, and we found a few nice spots nearby. The little lion cafe next door was fantastic and popular, so we were lucky to get in; I'd recommend making a reservation. We were downstairs and could hear people walking above, though the people over us were considerate and not too noisy. It could be an issue with a different group, but it wasn't for us. Everything felt just right, from the price to the views. My only regret is staying just one day. I hope to return for longer, and want to thank The Inn at sunset cliffs for an unforgettable Valentine's Day.

I've stayed in more than 80 hotels over the last 12 months, and this is one of my top three. The rooms and public spaces were spotless and well maintained. The glass wall had no fingerprints, the pool surround was just as clean, and the courtyard felt like a calm little oasis, with lots of comfortable places to sit. The staff were attentive and helpful, and I can't wait to return next year. I had the smallest room, but its tiny footprint was planned well. I especially liked the full-size closet with mirrored doors. The bathroom was smartly laid out too. The shower door swings both outward and inward, so after showering I could leave it open inside to drip dry without wetting the floor.

The staff went above and beyond for us. The inn is small, quiet, and local in feel, and there's a nice private pool and patio overlooking the ocean. Rooms aren't luxurious, but they're clean, comfortable, quiet, and have all the amenities. Parking was decent, though finding a street spot could be hard if the small lot was full.

Katie at the front desk was lovely and gave us great ideas for local food and things to do. The service was phenomenal, and the rooms were clean. This is a quaint, peaceful spot right by the San Diego shore, with ocean spray nearby but Downtown, the zoo, and the pier still close. The well-kept building, with its turquoise roof and white walls, has that popular 1970s coastal look. It felt like a nostalgic little discovery and a beautiful glimpse of California coastal living. Perfect for a staycation. I'll visit again.

The ocean-side patio was our favorite part. We spent plenty of mornings and afternoons out there with coffee or a glass or two of wine. The hotel is also handy for getting to the Ocean Beach neighborhood, with light shopping and lots of places to eat and drink. It's laid-back, and we felt safe walking around. We found Inn at Sunset Cliffs by chance during a week in San Diego, and it turned out to be just right. The room was clean and comfortable. It's an older building, so keep that in mind, but it's very well kept and has clearly been updated. This is the only hotel we'll stay at next time we're in San Diego.
