Hotel Abri - Union Square

The price was really reasonable, and the rooms were nicely equipped. We’re in the city a few times each year and somehow had never come across this place before. It’s a small, modern, clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff, about five minutes from union Square. Glad we found it.

We had a clean, pleasant suite with a refrigerator, though there wasn’t a microwave. It could use a little updating, but we had a good stay and I’d book it again. Shops and places to eat are within walking distance.

The part that bothered me most was how unwilling Hotel Abri was to offer any flexibility. A partial refund or credit would have meant something, but they offered neither. I understand there should be some penalty, but charging all four nights felt unreasonable when I couldn't get to San Francisco through no fault of my own. Weather canceled my original flight, then the available rebooking options were canceled too. I never made it to SF. If you book here, read the cancellation policy carefully. They won't accommodate a flight cancellation caused by bad weather.

Just a few minutes after we’d left the room, an employee caught up with us and returned my glasses, which I’d forgotten there. They were clearly checking rooms promptly, and getting them back saved me a lot of time and money. I was impressed and really appreciated it. The friendly staff and nice hotel made this a five-star stay.
