I've called Bayside Village home since March 2010, when I was working full time as an artist. It was the highest-rated apartment building in San Francisco on Yelp at the time, and I could see why: moving in was easy, the amenities were good, and the atmosphere felt relaxed. A car accident in 2017 changed my life, and the community helped me recover. The spas, fitness center, and quiet outdoor areas gave me space to build a new routine, one early morning and one patient step at a time. When lockdowns began in 2020, Bayside stayed clean and calm, and it was easy to get around. The package rooms, EV rentals, landscaping, and open-air layout all worked well. Now, in 2025, I run a small waterbike rental business on the San Francisco Bay, and I can't say enough good things about the current staff and management. They're kind, helpful, responsive, and down to earth. There have been people here with heart for years. I remember Bahman, Perry, and Martin, who is still around. The newer crew, including Marko, Bella, and Oscar, has the same warmth and patience. Marko is one of the best managers I've worked with: friendly, steady, and focused on finding solutions. Brookfield Multifamily has also made meaningful improvements, even though this isn't the newest building. There are new fitness centers and yoga studios, co-working and social lounges, EV chargers and rentals, modern package rooms, a dog park, a new fire alarm system, remote keyless security doors, electronic apartment locks, and fresh carpet, paint, and landscaping. Quality of life has improved, and people are staying longer. I've got a few ideas for what could still be better. A sign when pool or spa chemicals have just been added would help. I'd like to see a Residential Social Manager, quarterly meetings with management, pet waste bags kept stocked, cameras in the laundry rooms, and key fobs for all entrances. The empty Brannan Street storefronts could use tenants. In-unit maintenance and equipment repairs could happen faster, and each unit could have two sets of keys or secure mobile app access. Rodent prevention also needs to stay ahead of a problem that affects San Francisco citywide. If I'd written this in 2018, I might have given Bayside three stars. In 2025, after the upgrades and the renewed energy from the people running the place, I'm happy to give Bayside Village five. Thanks to Marko and the team for helping make this a place where I can live and grow. It takes a village!

After a year here, I've moved for personal reasons, but I still think Bayside Village was excellent value. The waterfront location meant I could see the ocean from across the street, and the amenities, hallways, and interiors were cleaned weekly. The gym's layout, equipment, and design were better than what I've had in luxury buildings, and residents were there throughout the day. People in my building, including low-income residents, were friendly and pleasant, and the community was quite diverse. Two small requests for management: please clean the Delancey St side of the property if possible, and consider putting mirrors in the pilates studio. My boyfriend and I first signed a lease here for our first San Francisco apartment. Bella, our leasing agent, was kind and professional as she helped us choose a renovated top-floor 1BR with a working fireplace and panoramic bay views. It was an amazing value, beyond what we expected in the SF rental market. The new gym, which opened Nov 2024, was spacious, had high-end equipment, and floor-to-ceiling windows. We liked the low-rise building facing the ocean, a Muni ride from the Financial District, and it felt like an oasis away from the city. The apartment, amenities, and common areas I saw were clean, new, and well maintained, and residents seemed to care for the place as their home. Recent concessions also made the rent a better value than anywhere else we toured in SF. One tip: the leasing team can be hard to reach by phone because of the high interest, so I'd recommend stopping by in person if you can.

The residents were the one bright spot during my more than three years at Bayside. I made some wonderful friends among people who were dealing with the same problems. Management, though, was awful to deal with. Whenever we raised an issue, they often spoke to us rudely, and something always seemed to be broken or under maintenance or renovation. My car was broken into in the garage, but management wouldn't look into it and sent me to the police, leaving security concerns at the property unaddressed. Homeless people also broke into the property numerous times. Packages went missing often, or the package room would take one without sending the access code, leaving us to request it and wait, even when a package was urgent. Renewal rates went up 10% each year while new prospective tenants were offered lower rent and concessions, which made no sense and seemed to push out existing residents. Fees on top of rent kept rising by outrageous amounts for water, sewer, trash, and even billing. The property looked beautiful when I moved in, with lush green shrubs, but the greenery was cut down and all the buildings were painted white. The paint was poor quality, and the patio flooring gave way after one season of rain.

Rosemberg from the maintenance team came right over when my kitchen sink was badly clogged. He was friendly, patient, and professional, and did a thorough, thoughtful job. He even left the area spotless. I really appreciate that kind of care. Thanks to Rosemberg and building management for being so responsive and helpful.
