They say they're trying to help people, but the rules make it hard for anyone with a job, volunteer work, or self-employment. You have to be in your room all night and every day from 9 to 11 am, and paying for vehicle parking on top of that is unrealistic. They don't explain the rules, then kick you out and keep billing you while putting their friends in. People in charge of operations take advantage of or steal everything, from food and supplies to payroll. You can't even get soap or a towel in a hotel.

The staff are great, and they wash the linens and towels every Thursday. I wish we could use the laundry for our own clothes, though. When I first moved in, I thought it was awesome. I smoke fetty, and lots of other residents do too, so meeting people was easy. We get two meals a day, which could be amazing if every meal were grade A. Some of them taste like cardboard.

The breakfast is amazingly tasty and generous, probably the best hotel breakfast in town. The staff are smiley and very helpful, and the price feels like a good bargain. My room was clean and quiet since it faced the back of the hotel. It was small, but the bed was very large and comfortable, and the bathroom was bright and clean. The hotel is a few blocks from the main square, close to supermarkets, amenities, bars, restaurants, cinemas, shops, buses, and the metro. There are some homeless people outside, but they are harmless.

The building is pretty old and has a distinctive smell, though my room was okay, with a nice bed and clean bathroom. The location is good. I picked this place because it was one of the few at this price with a/c. Breakfast is technically there, but there isn't much beyond cereal and bananas, and the coffee tastes weird. No slippers or complimentary water bottles in the room. It's fine for a night or a few if you just need somewhere to crash, though hotel prices in SF are crazy.

The neighborhood feels very questionable, with lots of homeless people on the sidewalks and an awful smell. We tried to get back before nightfall. The hotel is well located near a fancy shopping center, within walking distance. Our room was about the size of a teenager's bedroom, but the queen bed was adequate and very clean. The bathroom was huge, easily big enough for 4-6 wheelchairs. Service was adequate, and the maid service kept the room clean. The elevator is tiny and the stairs are narrow.
