Hotel Fusion

I was traveling across the states and stayed on Saturday night in room 228 on the second floor, if I remember right. The room wasn’t what had been advertised; it was a carpet king room. In the morning I found bits on my body from bed bugs, and saw two of them on the bed. I’d never seen bed bugs in real life before, and they stink. If you stay here, check and smell the room. If it has a sweet, musty, moldy smell, change rooms.

I don’t usually write reviews, but Daniel at Fusion Hotel deserves a mention. We arrived late last night after a long flight with delays, and his patience, kindness, and energy were exactly what we needed after such a stressful travel day. He made us feel welcome and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. Daniel gave us a wonderful first impression.

The location is ideal, and the lobby was spotless. The staff were very nice, and there’s useful luggage storage. But the room was awful and the stay still wasn’t worth it. It was closet-sized, smelled strongly of something like mold or mildew, and felt stuffy, as if no air had moved through it for ages. The AC was right beside the bed, close enough to reach from it, and so loud I couldn’t sleep. The whole room felt gross, and I had to get up and shower right away to get the hotel off me. I don’t recommend staying here.

Fusion is a perfectly adequate place at a reasonable price, especially compared with other hotels in the area. It’s one block from market Street, with a small bar in the lobby and small but clean rooms. The price, location, and service are outstanding for the neighborhood. Thanks to the friendly women downstairs who helped us.
