Opal San Francisco

Our room faced the back of the hotel, so it was quiet, and it had coffee and tea. The renovated room was tasteful and modern, and the historic hotel is in a good spot with a bus stop across the street. But work was still underway, leaving the lobby improvised. We stayed five nights, and the room wasn’t restocked with essentials daily, so we had to ask for them. Staff ranged from friendly and helpful to plainly incompetent. Given the price, it was a mixed experience.

The bathroom was spacious and nice, and I liked the walk-in shower. Since it had a curtain, though, some water splashed onto the floor. The room was decent and the bed comfortable. Renovation work was going on, so there were bright lights outside my window, but the curtains blocked most of it. It was nice to have parking available.

I travel for work every week, and this hotel is in a very convenient location. The amenities work perfectly for a one- or two-night visit. It’s recently been renovated, and the rooms are a gem, with beautiful decor, excellent beds and bathrooms, and nice cable TV. The hallways have plenty of character with a modern touch. I’ll definitely come back.

The hotel was quiet and clean, and the customer service was great. It was being renovated when I visited, arriving on 6/21/19, and as of 6/23/19. They handled my last-minute reservation right away for my four-day San Francisco visit. My room had a spacious single queen bed, air conditioning, and a TV with lots of channels. After a day exploring the wonderful city, the bed was super comfortable for a good night’s rest.
