Inn at Golden Gate

The bed was great, and the room was clean. The carpet is older, so you can’t be sure how clean it is, though it had been vacuumed. Everything else was clean, and there’s a soft filtered water system. It had what I needed for a reasonable price, and I could park right by my door, which helped since I’d driven four hours from Redding. My son was flown there from a Redding hospital for four days of extensive medical testing at Cal Pacific.

The rooms were clean, and public transit made it easy to get around the city. It’s a non-smoking place. Just be aware there’s no microwave or kettle.

At 7am the cleaning staff were yelling to each other across the halls and repeatedly banging things around. The service was the worst I’ve had at a hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again even if you paid me. Disrespectful, rude, disgusting staff. Those women should be fired. This is ridiculous.

The location beside the Presidio is great, and neighborhood shops and restaurants are within walking distance. My room was smaller and more basic than I expected. There was a fridge but no microwave, and no breakfast in the morning. I’ve stayed here a couple of times over the years, and given the price and location, I’d come back.
