The room was only okay. The bathroom door wouldn’t latch or lock, and with four people the layout was hard to get around. The beds were angled with barely any room between them and the walls. We had just two towels for four people over four nights, and couldn’t find any extras. Check-in was a mess too. We’d booked through a third party and didn’t realize there were no employees there in person, only a screen for virtual help. We waited outside and rang several times before calling the hotel to get let in. Then the woman on the video call tried to charge us again, insisting we hadn’t paid, even though we’d paid in advance. She eventually got her manager, who confirmed the payment. By then, other guests were waiting outside to check in and were also unhappy about the delay. We wouldn’t stay here again.

The setup worked really well for us: two rooms sharing a bathroom, for my spouse, our adult son, and me. We were nervous about the Inn at Gough check-in after reading recent reviews, but it went smoothly this past weekend. The rooms and bathroom were clean, quiet, and stylish; the linens and towels smelled fresh. There was also a nicely decorated, comfortable living room beside our room. We’d definitely recommend it.

I paid $190 and never got a room. The emailed front door code didn’t work, and when I called the help desk, they said it was too late to check in. The reservation email says check-in is from 3pm until whenever and checkout is 12pm, but the person there said 1:30am was too late. It’s been two weeks without a resolution. I’ve emailed twice and both times got the same reply, “we are reviewing your complaint.” This place is a straight-up scam. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

The service was awful. I spent 10 minutes waiting outside the door, then another 30 by a machine while they tried to sort out a tech problem. There was nobody at the desk, just a machine and an overseas customer service team. The system simply didn’t work, and the whole experience was terrible. I’ll never stay here again.

Great value, with clean, comfortable rooms in a nice part of town. It’s a small self-check-in hotel, handy for a solo traveler or anyone wanting to be about a 15 minute drive from SFO while staying near good restaurants and transit.
