They had wine, popcorn, and a card waiting for my friend’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. We left a note for the room attendant and she sweetly wrote back. We also had dinner and coffee at the hotel restaurant, and the service was good all around. The room was a good size for two, the elevators were quick, and the staff were great. We wanted to be near the wharf and were very close. Restaurants, shops, and the cable cars were all within walking distance. We’d stay again.

The TV was the one real letdown. Casting from a device was a nightmare and, in our experience, took about twice as long as the show’s runtime. The live channels also went to a black screen for 15 seconds every couple of minutes, so watching anything during our two-day stay was basically impossible. Still, I’ll give it five stars. Most people probably don’t spend much time watching TV in their room. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the beds were on the somewhat firm side. Our rain shower was the best one we’ve had away from home, with great pressure, heat, and space. Restaurant service was great, breakfast portions were big and good value, and the nighttime happy hour had a nice variety.

The restaurant was the bright spot: I loved the breakfast, and the servers were top notch. Everything else felt like a mess. We were choosing between this and the Regency for a girls’ weekend, and picked Hyatt Centric because its location fit our plans better. As a Globalist, this was the worst Hyatt I’ve stayed at in the past 24 months. We weren’t told the rooms were under construction, and hammering and drilling started at 8 a.m. At check-in, after our delayed flight, the front desk barely made eye contact or greeted us. There was no recognition of Globalist status, and no mention of water, breakfast, or where the elevators were. I asked about an upgrade after getting the keys; the agent said there was one, but it was on a floor with construction. The soundproofing was extremely poor. Guests were yelling and partying from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday, then it started again at 6:30 a.m. It didn’t sound like just one group, and I couldn’t tell if the yelling was happy or not. The pool was also frigid despite being described as heated on the website, so we’d packed our swimsuits. It was a disappointing, dirty-looking pool, far from the photos. Even if it had been warm, it wasn’t appealing.

The calm, welcoming feel of the hotel was especially nice in such a busy tourist area. It seemed well organized, and the staff were friendly, professional, and ready to help. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well designed, with what we needed for a pleasant stay. We really enjoyed Hyatt Centric Fisherman’s Wharf. The location is excellent for walking around, close to the waterfront, Pier 39, and great restaurants. It’s a very good choice for a family trip or a leisure stay in San Francisco. We’d gladly return and can confidently recommend it.

Our room was just okay, but the restaurant breakfast was a good deal at about $20-$25 per person, with very big portions. The hotel has a modern, relaxed, welcoming feel, and the front desk staff were friendly and professional. We really enjoyed Hyatt Centric Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s well placed for walking around, close to the waterfront, Pier 39, and the Golden Gate Bridge.
