Kensington Park Hotel

The biggest thing missing for me was breakfast. Otherwise, I had a wonderful stay at the Kensington Park Hotel. It sits right off Union Square, close to restaurants, shops, and public transit, and the lobby is a cozy place to relax after a day out. The old-world look has plenty of character, while the rooms felt clean, spacious, and comfortable. I slept especially well. Staff were warm and helpful from the moment I arrived, always friendly and professional. I'd happily come back.

I've stayed here twice and plan to return. The second time, I'd left a charger in my room, and the staff helped me track it down. Room service had kept it safe, and Mario was kind enough to help me with it at 6 a.m. The hotel is historic and beautiful, with comfortable rooms and lots of care in the details. The team and owners are very kind.

The room was dirty, the blankets looked unwashed, and the housekeeping fell well short of basic standards. For what they charge, that quality was unacceptable. The lobby staff were rude and unhelpful too, making even simple questions seem like a bother and leaving us feeling unwelcome. I've stayed at plenty of hotels, and this was one of my worst experiences. I can't recommend it. Book somewhere else.

The building is historic and nice, but the room I paid for was supposed to have a king bed and they put me in a queen room instead. The displayed price for things like water also didn't match what they tried to charge.
