We really enjoyed the breakfast and the wine and cheese, and don’t skip the cookies. The inn worked wonderfully for our family of four. The rooms had plenty of space, the beds were comfortable, and check-in and checkout service was excellent. We could easily walk to the Disney museum and the lawn with views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

It feels surprisingly secluded for a hotel in a major city, with peaceful views over the Presidio park. Getting anywhere on foot can take a while, though Uber or Waymo made it easy, and the Golden Gate Bridge gives quick access in and out of the city. Dogs are welcome, too. The Inn at the Presidio has roomy, comfortable rooms and bathrooms, all with the character of a historic boutique property. It feels charming rather than outdated. Breakfast was decent, and the outdoor fire pit during evening wine happy hour made for a cozy place to sit. A tucked-away, quiet base if that’s what you’re after in San Francisco.

Right beside the Presidio, so it’s a great starting point for exploring San Francisco on foot or by bike. The staff were welcoming, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the whole place had a nice feel. Good value, and I’d stay again.

I’m into history, so this place caught my eye. It’s quiet and cozy, but still very nice. I usually get a huge two-room suite, and having a balcony with rocking chairs is a bonus. It looks over the old marching grounds toward the bay and the iconic Golden Gate. I also love the hiking trails. It’s really quiet there even though the city is right at the gates. With the kids, it’s an easy walk to the Tunnel Top parks, where there’s lots of room to run around while taking in the history of the Presidio. It’s a low-key place for my family, dogs included.

The fire outside was a favorite spot. I met other guests there, and the laid-back atmosphere made it easy to slow down. There’s a hiking path right behind the inn, too. In the morning, breakfast was a comforting continental spread, and the evening wine and cheese reception was a nice way to unwind and chat after exploring. The suites blend modern comforts with the history of the former military post, and each room has its own character. Mine had a cozy fireplace and a spacious living room, so I felt at home right away. The Inn at the Presidio is tucked into a peaceful part of San Francisco, with the city’s attractions and the beauty of the Presidio still accessible. Parking is next to the Inn, though there’s a daily charge. The area felt safe, and the views of the main post with the San Francisco Bay behind it were very cool. Two good restaurants and some museums are only steps away. The parade grounds and NPS visitor is nearby. Guests can walk to the YMCA, and complimentary bikes are available. A relaxing escape with comfort, history, and charm. I left feeling refreshed and inspired.
