Marina Motel

We were forced out of our place for 22 nights while it was being repaired, and this was the coziest place we stayed. Such a comfort, and truly a gem. The staff were kind and helped with anything I was concerned about. Cute, affordable, convenient, and clean. 🌹

Martin, the manager, went out of his way to help us park our full U-Haul with a car attached. He circled the property to find a spot, put out cones to block the road so we could get parked, and helped carry our things so we could stay with our daughter and dogs. We felt safe and settled for the night. The motel is dog friendly, and our dogs even got treats for the road. The two women at the front desk were welcoming, kind, and helpful from the moment we arrived. This was easily the best place we've stayed on our trip. The service and people were amazing, and we'll definitely come back. Highly recommended.

The courtyard and interiors have a lovely Spanish Mission style, and the parking felt secure. It's centrally located, with plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. You're close to the main attractions but far enough from the sketchier activity. A very reasonably priced, underrated gem on Lombard street. I'll stay here again on my next trip to SF.

We had a connected two-bedroom setup with a bathroom between the rooms, which worked great for our family of three. We were in an inner room, so it was pretty quiet. You can hear street noise with the window open, and rooms facing the main road may be louder. The courtyard has beautiful flowers. The front desk woman was lovely and lent my husband an umbrella for the evening since he didn't bring a rain jacket. It's an older motel, like many on Lombard, but the location is great. There are good restaurants a few blocks away in Presidio, and bus 28 gives easy rides to the Golden Gate Bridge and Park and to Fisherman's Wharf. It's a bargain for SF. Weekend parking could be difficult if you arrive late because the garage spaces beneath the inner courtyard rooms don't cover every room. The street-facing rooms have their own garage space, but getting in is tricky since it's right on Lombard. Those rooms could also be louder, though that might be useful if you're driving in and out and want a guaranteed spot.
