Palihotel San Francisco

The hotel is a lovely, well-kept historic building, and the room was cute, clean, thoughtfully decorated, and stocked with amenities that seemed carefully chosen. The staff were wonderful. I also liked the second-floor bar’s relaxed feel, and the bartender and wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The rain shower was SO nice. Noise was my one complaint. I live in the country, so going from crickets to constant honking and sirens on the first night was rough. The hotel is near a busy tunnel and intersection, though the central Financial District location is very convenient. There’s also a connecting door to the room next door, and I could hear what the person there was doing. No one was in that room the first night, so I didn’t notice at first. Earplugs made for a much better second night.

From my room on the seventh floor, I could hear every car horn and siren from street level, along with footsteps above me and outside my door. It’s an old building, over 100 years old, so I understand why, but they might want to look at noise insulation. I’ll give them an A for providing earplugs. Light came through the window shutters, and with no blackout curtains, it was hard to sleep. A blackout sleep mask for guests could help. The stairs are quicker than the elevator, too. There was also a leak, I’m guessing, with a bucket catching water in the middle of the hall. For what the room costs, that wasn’t a good look.

The staff were so friendly, and the room was clean. I loved staying at Pali Hotel SF. It’s right in Union Square, so getting around and walking everywhere was easy. The whole hotel has a beautiful look and feel. I’ll definitely be back.

Will, the General Manager, made our stay feel special. He was kind, attentive, and clearly cared about each guest’s experience. The rest of the staff had the same friendly, helpful energy. Palihotel San Francisco is a charming little hidden gem, with spotless, thoughtfully designed rooms and a warm, inviting feel. It’s quaint, full of character, and made me feel at home in the middle of the city. I can’t wait to return! 💚🏙️
