SoMa House

For what we paid, I expected more. The hotel is in a premium location, but parking is around the corner from the check-in entrance. The building seemed old and small, and the basic continental breakfast was coffee and maybe 10 to 15 not very good pastries. There are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms. It's still a solid hotel, but I honestly won't stay again.

The pool was a wonderful bonus, especially for my two girls. My family and I stayed at Soma House while waiting to move into our apartment, and the front desk staff member Steve went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable and make sure we had what we needed. The hotel was very clean, and every staff member we met was courteous, professional, and attentive. Soma House made our temporary stay feel like home. I highly recommend it for quality accommodations and hospitality.

We stayed eight nights at SoMa House for a holiday and were completely satisfied. The reception staff were fantastic, friendly, and full of tips for visiting SF and finding things to do. Special thanks to Sam. Rooms were cleaned daily, and a small breakfast was available each day. There's a pool, and nearby stations let you reach all parts of SF with CLIPPER. The hotel is near Tenderloin, but I always felt safe and wasn't bothered by people on the street; they do their own thing. Friendly security staff look after the property. The Bar/Reataurant is closed for now but is supposed to open soon, and it looks beautiful from outside. Thanks for the hospitality!

The hotel itself feels secure, with a guard at the entrance around the clock, and it's a cute, affordable place in a central spot with easy public transport. But there was no AC in the room, and the neighborhood has sketchy characters and drug addicts. I didn't feel safe walking or taking the bus there at night, so I used Uber more than I wanted. I might stay again for the price, but keep in mind it's a rough part of the city.
