I liked the retro look right away: neon, slightly gaudy colors, a cool sign, and Flamingo pink doors with blue neon accents. This is a locally owned, non-chain motel, which appealed to me. I wanted an old-school motel stay and got one, like stepping back to the 50's and motel heyday. I'd come back for sure. The front desk staff were efficient and helpful, if not especially friendly. Parking was a little tight but seemed just adequate. Inside, things are dated, as I'd expected. The room was clean, nicely made up, and stocked with coffee, soap, shampoo, an iron, and a full-sized ironing board. The bed was comfortable, though I could've used a fourth pillow. They were all the same type and a bit flat. My room faced The Alameda, so there was some street noise. Earplugs solved it for me, but if you're sensitive to sound, I'd suggest requesting a reset or interior room.

The staff were friendly and caring, and the room was spacious, with two beds and a roomy bathroom. We appreciated having a refrigerator, though it didn't have a freezer, along with a microwave and a dryer. Parking was close by. Our room was near the street but relatively quiet on the front side, so it made for an enjoyable stay. The location worked well for getting to stores, restaurants, and freeways. There's a good bookstore nearby too.

The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean, and the customer service was phenomenal. This really isn't what you picture when you think of a motel. We won't stay anywhere else when we come to a San Jose Sharks game. Great food, bars, and the SAP Center are an easy walk away. You won't regret staying here.

I never got to stay, and they kept my $140 after denying a refund and marking me as a no-show. Before booking, I asked if there was availability. I made the reservation, then he said there wasn't any. He also said I'd accidentally booked the wrong date. I couldn't switch to the correct day, which was the current date, because he said there was no availability, after initially saying there was. It changed within moments. My booking wouldn't have been made in the first place if there'd been no availability. I'd recommend paying cash and not prepaying here, since it's a risk.

The room was very clean, comfortable, and had a little fridge. Staff were friendly and check-in was easy. Great spot for food and events. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.
