Days Inn San Marcos

It was quiet and clean, the AC worked, and the area felt safe. There wasn't any coffee in the room, though, and breakfast was all carbs.

I needed to stay near the University for a graduation, and this hotel was right there. The room itself was clean, but the sheets and towels looked really dingy. I'd called ahead to check for a hair dryer and was told they had one. The one in the room was ancient and didn't work. They offered another room in the morning so I could dry my hair, but I ended up buying a dryer at Walmart instead. The service was substandard.

The room was clean and the staff I spoke with were very nice. For the price, it did the job as a place to sleep while I was passing through.

We booked a smoking room, but around 4 a.m. the smoke alarm went off for at least five minutes. It could have woken everyone nearby, and we hadn't been smoking at all. They told us to speak with the manager or GM. My girlfriend was spoken to rudely, and I nearly left work to explain she was speaking for me, though much more nicely. I held back and took my business somewhere else.
