The room changes caused some really uncomfortable situations. Two guests were moved from two queen beds to one king without being asked, including a mother and daughter and two men who weren't a couple. When we raised it, we were told nothing could be done. A confirmed room type should be honored, especially for a wedding group. We had also booked 12 rooms for my son's wedding. A month before the stay, I spent over two hours confirming everything with Enari, who was helpful and assured me all was in order. But on arrival, the front desk seemed unprepared and couldn't find the reservation under my mother's name, who was paying. They first said she would have to change rooms during the stay. She's 92 and uses a walker, so I had my nephew and his wife move after the first night to fix the mistake. The water policy was another frustration. Only “gold members” could get bottled water, and even then it was just one bottle for the whole stay. My husband got one because of his status, but I didn't. When I asked for water for my elderly mother, I was told to buy it from the convenience shop. I ended up purchasing cases for our guests. Given our booking and the wedding, that felt stingy and inconsiderate. I was extremely disappointed by how my guests and I were treated. For a hotel handling a wedding group, I expected much better organization, communication, and basic hospitality.
The pool was warm in February, the gym was spotless and even had Clorox wipes, and our room was clean. Breakfast was amazing and the coffee was great. I've stayed at lots of hotels while traveling for my sons' soccer games, and this one was the best. The hotel was beautiful, and the lady at the front desk was so nice. I'll definitely come back soon.
The best part of the trip was Hubert, the robot who makes deliveries for the front desk. The front desk staff were pleasant, and the hotel was nice enough overall, but I was hoping for a good rest before a long drive home after visiting a nearby attraction. The AC unit left an odd smell in the room. I kept the window open all night, but it never went away. There were also a couple of dead ants on the bathroom counter. Then at 5:30am, the fire alarm woke me up, shouting that there was a fire and telling us to evacuate. I went into the hall and down the stairs with the other guests on my floor. Once we were outside, someone came out of the lobby to say it was a false alarm and give the all-clear. I missed breakfast while trying to get more rest.
The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly, but with little ones, bring your own pack and play. They don't have one on site, only a portable crib. We need a pack and play because it's the only thing my wife can use to lower our baby to bed safely. A crib is too tall, and she's afraid she'll fall in with him or drop him while putting him down. I called the day before our trip to ask if they had a pack and play, and was assured one would be in the room. When we arrived, they said the crib was the only option. This is really upsetting because they could have told me that when I called. Now I have to go buy one so we can put the baby to sleep tonight. We definitely won't stay at this location again.
The room was clean, the bed was nice, and there was plenty of space. The staff were awesome, and it's a great spot by the freeway and close to everything we needed. The only real room complaint was the lack of a smart TV, so you're stuck with cable. Bring a laptop if you want to stream or watch a movie. The toilet backed up, but when we called the service desk they sent up a cool robot with a plunger. After we cleared it, we called again and the robot came back to collect it. My first robot service experience, lol. Pretty cool. Breakfast was okay. The cubed scrambled eggs were very plain, so you'll want salt, pepper, ketchup, or something. Sausage links were okay, the waffle iron system made good waffles, and there were cereals, muffins, other breakfast items, juices, and different coffees. Weekday breakfast runs 6 AM to 9 AM, with weekends until 10 AM. I wish it went to 10 every day since we like to sleep until at least nine on vacation, and we missed breakfast a couple of times. We'll be back!
