White Rock Inn

Both rooms we rented had roaches and bed bugs. They were also really hot, even with the AC on. We asked for a refund and were turned down, so we slept in our cars instead.

The smell in our smoking room was much worse than cigarette smoke. There were burn holes in the blankets, splatters on the walls, writing on the walls and door, and a huge ceiling crack that was clearly leaking. The floor below it felt weak, like it might give way, and the door wouldn’t close all the way. They refused when we asked for a better room or a refund, so we left for a hotel up the road that cost the same and was immaculate. White rock should be shut down. It’s disgusting and feels unsafe for people to be in. I’m pretty sure we would have been murdered if we’d stayed.

We got two beds for two people for two nights, booked the same day, and paid $162. For a young person on a budget, that price felt worth it. It’s right off the highway, so it’s a bit loud, but the location is handy for food and activities. The free Wi-Fi worked great, and the AC was excellent. The room auto-locks, which made it feel secure. The room and bathroom were clean, with no insects inside. There was some wall damage and a broken chair. The staff I spoke with were helpful and nice, though they got straight to the point. It’s nothing glamorous, despite how awful the old reviews make it sound.

I wouldn’t stay here again even if someone paid me. The room wasn’t clean at all, and I killed at least six spiders during my stay. The coffee maker listed in the room description wasn’t there. The pool looked great but wasn’t available, and the soda machine had no drinks of any flavor, so we had to make an unplanned trip to a gas station. The walls were disgusting, with what I’m pretty sure were blood stains in the bathroom. The lampshades were either moldy or had been in a fire. The bathtub wouldn’t hold water, so I couldn’t take a bath, and the AC unit looked like it had never been cleaned. It was a horrible stay. I plan to contact the manager to ask for my money back, though the woman in the office at checkout spoke very little English. Save your money.
