La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Sandusky near Cedar Point

We spent three days here for a volleyball tournament and liked having a king and queen bed with a sofa, which made it easy to relax. Breakfast was good and the staff were really friendly. We did have trouble with the heater in our room, so they moved us. Aside from that, not bad.

The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the bath towels were soft, and the two front desk staff I spoke with at check-in were friendly. We came for Cedar Point and arrived at the hotel around 1 a.m. The fan motor made a loud noise as soon as we opened the door. We kept it running so the room would stay cool, and since it was so late I didn't ask to switch rooms. For the price, it was a good place to stay overall.

The spacious, clean suites were a nice surprise, and the breakfast buffet was a big plus. The strawberry waffles hit the spot. We stayed in mid-May, and Cedar Point was about ten minutes away. Great value, and I'd stay here again.

It took 20 minutes just to check in. When we finally got to the room, the ceiling was coming down, the AC was loud and didn't work, the TV was broken, and the door wouldn't close or lock properly. The room looked nothing like the photos, and it was very outdated and falling apart. I told the man at the desk about all of it, but he said there was nothing he could do and refused to move us. He claimed they were fully booked, though the parking lot was empty, which made that hard to believe.
