Value Inn Motel

We weren’t expecting a high-end stay, but the first room was dusty, dirty, and buggy, with a musty smell. The toilet, sink, and shower pipes all leaked. The owner gave us a different king room on short notice, which I appreciated, especially since there was nowhere else open that week. That room had a TV and fridge but no microwave, unlike the first one. It was in the middle of renovations and couldn’t accommodate many people, so hopefully finishing the work will help. We made do, despite dirty towels and having to buy toilet paper after running out twice. There was only a bare bulb, and the neighbors who lived there gave us the creeps. The woman helping us, an assistant owner or manager, did her best, but the place was worse than a basic two-star hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have no choice.

The man at the desk, maybe the owner, was very nice, and I almost felt bad for him. But the room was in terrible condition, and the bathroom was worse, with bugs in it. I believe homeless people live here. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for. If you do stay, bring your own bedding, towels, washcloths, pillows, and everything else. Shower before checking in, because that bathroom was shady. I just wouldn’t stay again.

The only useful thing was a mini fridge that kept our drinks cold. The room was very dirty, with mold growing in several spots, and the bed wasn’t level. I couldn’t sleep because of trains and road traffic, and it was too late at night to find somewhere else. This was the worst place I’ve stayed. Consider staying elsewhere for a Cedar Point visit.

The service was nice, and the park is nearby, but the location is also right by the train tracks. Trains passed every ten minutes and whistled. There was no soundproofing, so I heard everything the couple next door was doing. The shower leaked both nights, and the walls were cracking. Broken blinds and a broken curtain let headlights shine straight into the room. It’s the worst place in the area to stay, and not even the cheapest.
