Casa Del Mar Inn

The grounds had lovely mature gardens, and we liked the location. The rooms were clean, but the inexpensive furniture, plain decor, and very thin, stark white walls made them feel lacking. We didn’t want to spend much time in there. Evening wine and cheese meant Franzia and pre-cubed cheese. Breakfast was heated pastries and Chobani yogurt. Service was fine, though nobody explained the parking when we arrived. There are three visible spaces, one ADA-compliant. The next morning, another staff member explained how to park for longer in the hotel’s “90-minute only” zone. The trick is that they give you a permit for each weekend day.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We arrived really early, before check-in, and they happily held our bags, then brought them to our room when it was ready while we went out exploring. The location is hard to beat, an easy walk to both State Street and the beach. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and I liked that the coffee came from a local company. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable, with everything you need. Honestly, that adds to the Santa Barbara charm. The price was much better than other nearby hotels, and we had a great stay at Casa Del Mar Inn. Highly recommend!

We stayed in August, and after a few visits to Santa Barbara, this has been my favorite inn by far. It’s cozy and cute, great for two people. The rooms were spacious and the staff really friendly. Wish we’d had more time. I’d highly recommend it.

We make a point of stopping here on our drives between the Bay Area and the desert. The harbor and marina are only steps away, and the rooms have a charming SoCal Spanish look with an international feel, since visitors come from all over. They're well equipped, and some have gas fireplaces and full kitchens. The staff are top notch, with breakfast and happy hour food, and the courtyard firepit is a nice place to spend time.
