Aqua Breeze Inn

The room was clean, the price was decent, and the location was great. Dogs barking made things a bit noisy, but I didn’t mind that. What did wake me was the musician upstairs, playing guitar and stomping around from about midnight until 4am, with a few breaks. I was too exhausted from the day to bring it up with the front desk.

Mario and the housekeeping ladies were so nice, which is why I gave it 3 stars. The place itself could use a remodel. I only took a few pictures since other reviewers’ photos seemed to show it all. We got there early, and Mario gave me a parking permit so we could leave the car at the motel and head to the beach while we waited for check-in at 3pm. When we came back, they told us our room had a plumbing problem, supposedly the sink, though it might have been the toilet. I waited about 20 minutes. It is what it is, and I wasn’t upset. I felt bad seeing housekeeping trying their best to clean the floors while we waited. The location is great, right by the Boardwalk parking lot, with a straight walk across it to the beach.

The location across from the Boardwalk is about the only good thing I can say. There are really only 9 parking spots for the whole complex, and two are handicapped spots, so you may have to pay for street parking. The building looks badly run down, with worrying structural damage on the second and third floor walkways. I thought it might collapse if we sneezed the wrong way. Inside, the bleach smell was so strong it felt like a crime scene cleanup was happening outside. The beds felt like sheets over a pile of laundry and were almost impossible to get comfortable on. The ceiling sagged in several places in our room, and the huge bathroom was in disrepair, with most fixtures loosely attached to the walls. There was an AC unit, at least. I should have paid closer attention when booking. I expected a cute little hole-in-the-wall across from the Boardwalk. Find somewhere else. The only thing missing was a sign advertising rooms by the hour.

The AC sounded like a dying bird screaming, and it was so loud I couldn’t sleep. The curtains were too small for the window, leaving a 4-inch gap where people could see in. I just didn’t feel comfortable in the room, and sleeping comfortably was impossible. I know the place is older and the location is good, but that didn’t make up for it.
