Super 8 by Wyndham Tulsa/Route 66

I was in town for school and wanted somewhere affordable, so I chose this place because its reviews were better. The manager was very nice and helpful at check-in. The area is pretty industrial, and the room felt dated. Still, the room, bed, sheets, and towels were clean, without stains or odd smells. I wiped the surfaces with Lysol and they were clean too. The chair and desk chair had some stains, so I left those alone. Overall, a good experience.

The room was nice and the bed was soft. I wouldn’t walk barefoot, though, because the wood planks had sharp edges. The pool looked nice too. Breakfast was limited to two choices, waffles or cereal. There isn’t a grocery store close by, but there are plenty of restaurants, and three are so close you barely have to leave the parking lot.

The staff, from the front desk to housekeeping and maintenance, were great. I had two problems across my two rooms. The first room’s lock didn’t work, so they moved me. That room probably would’ve been quieter than the second one near the steps. The water in the second room was only lukewarm, but they fixed it right away.

The room was clean but dated, and the night clerk was wonderful. My husband is a Veteran, so we got a military discount on an accessible first-floor room. After we settled in and went to sleep, about three hours later we heard dripping, as if someone had turned on a shower. My husband went to check and stepped into half an inch of water on the floor. The bathroom ceiling had a huge bubble and crack that was leaking. We called the front desk, but the new person was rude and said she was busy and we’d have to wait. When I went to the office, she was speaking condescendingly to another client and telling them they were being disrespectful. She was rude to me too when I asked about the ceiling. We left. Corporate only offered a voucher for another night, but we want our money back, not another night at one of their hotels. They said we had to deal with that specific hotel for a refund, and I didn’t want to deal with that rude woman. I’ll never stay at another hotel associated with Wyndham. This place was literally falling down, and the manager was rude.
