Western Capri Motel

The room itself wasn't terrible, but management and some of the tenants made this a one-star stay. There were roaches now and then, and when the fridge stopped working, they didn't repair or replace it, so I lost food. An older man at the end regularly sat outside blasting his radio and picking fights with other tenants. The owners brushed off complaints, telling people to mind their own business and move along, while asking him to go inside and be quiet. They'd also fuss at you for asking for towels or toilet paper. Posting one star because zero isn't an option. Don't stay here.

For about a month, this was the best value of the extended-stay motels I tried around Tulsa. The rooms had good space, were clean, and the rates were lower than most. Management and housekeeping were dependable, and there wasn't much riff-raff. Highway noise out front and trains behind the motel were noticeable, though. My only other gripe was that I had to run the dryer twice to get laundry dry. Still, a very nice stay.

We spent a week and a half here while waiting for my husband's check so we could move somewhere else, and we never got a full night's sleep. Neighbors on both sides yelled and fought, sometimes until 2 a.m.; police came twice. I guess many people live here full time. The owners were nice, but mostly absent from what was going on. I only saw them collecting towels. Housekeeping picked up towels in the morning and brought them back a few hours later, and sheets were only washed on Tuesdays. The room was dirty enough that I cleaned everything, even the walls, before feeling somewhat comfortable. The carpet made white socks filthy within minutes. The pillows were badly stained and smelled awful, as did the blankets. We were glad we'd brought our own bedding. On the first night, I found what looked like blood stains on the sheets. The front desk apologized, but I had to strip the bed and walk across a dark parking lot to the office for replacements. There were no bed bugs, roaches, or other creepy crawlies, and the place allowed pets. It also had coin laundry, with one washer and one dryer at $1.25 each. Cheap, and you get what you pay for.
