The staff made this stay especially memorable. Mr. Will even wiped pollen off one of our cars and added time to the parking meters so we wouldn’t get tickets. Mark, the manager, was also wonderful to work with when we arranged a birthday gathering for my mother in the courtyard for 20 people. He helped with decorations, setting up tables, bartending arrangements, and shopping for supplies. The whole team went beyond what we expected. The hotel itself has a lot of character, tucked beside a quiet square but still a short walk from the busy spots. It feels like a cozy European boutique hotel, with no elevator. Rooms differ in their layout and features: some have kitchens, some have several rooms or beds, and others are small studios with one bed. There’s a courtyard and two porches where you can sit and relax. A few rooms didn’t have much space for clothes, with too few drawers or hangers for our group. The manager said updates to the rooms are planned to improve that. We were really impressed with our stay and the atmosphere.

The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish, and the hotel has a calm, cozy feel. We loved the distinctive boutique design and all the thoughtful details. Had a wonderful stay at The Present and can’t wait to return.

Room 206 was clean and tidy, and looked like the photos. The sink stopper wouldn’t close, though, so we couldn’t fill the basin. You could also hear people occasionally coming and going on the stairs. If you’re a light sleeper, a room on the third or fourth floor might suit you better. We spent the day exploring Savannah on foot, from the parks and squares to the river walk, restaurants, and shops. The location is great for seeing downtown, and the building was clean. Parking was easy with the Park Savannah app, which charged $1 an hour from 8am-8pm. Keep an eye out for street sweeping signs on certain days. The Present communicated well from booking through after checkout, though getting in touch could be a hassle. Their emails and texts included a phone number, so I called on Dec 30 to ask whether there would be street sweeping on New Year's Day. Someone called back soon after and said they’d check with the General Manager, but I never got another answer. Later, I received an email asking when I planned to check out, but a glitch kept me from replying. It was a great part of our first Savannah trip, and I’d consider staying here again. I’m confident they’ll keep fine-tuning things.

A quiet spot downtown, with restaurants nearby and Broughton just a short walk away. Great place to stay in Savannah if you want to be in the city center.

We like finding boutique hotels, and this one lived up to what we hoped for. The manager told us ahead of time that there was an AC problem in the room we’d booked, then offered us another room with better AC. We really appreciated that. The rooms are lovely and well kept, and we enjoyed the quirks that come with an older building. It’s in a quiet area but still walkable to the busier tourist spots. Prices are reasonable for a location on the edge of the historic district, which was a nice help for our budget. We’d come back if we visit Savannah again.
