Sonesta Simply Suites Chicago O'Hare Airport

My room was clean, nicely furnished, and had a good kitchenette with a freg, stove, microwave, kitchenware, and sink. The free shuttle showed up right on time, and the person at the check-in desk was polite, courteous, and very accommodating. I wasn't sure about choosing this one since it was the cheapest among the area hotels, but I was pleased. It's a nice, pleasant, affordable place, and I strongly recommend it.

The room was spacious and looked clean, with clean sheets and towels, which feels hard to find in hotels now. It had a full kitchen with a stove. The hosts were great, and I loved the free airport shuttle. It's worth booking, but bring food or get something before you arrive if you don't plan to go back out. Getting checked in at midnight was stressful. My partner booked through Booking.com, then changed the reservation to my name. Booking.com confirmed the change, but the hotel hadn't received it. I had the confirmation email, but the man on the phone said I couldn't check in unless the change was in their system. I offered to email it to him right away, but he said no. There was a full trash bin in the room, and barely any hot water. Not ideal after traveling for more than five hours and just wanting to get clean.

I'm 2 weeks into a 28-day stay and wanted to write this now. The hotel is nice, but be aware they charge $10 a night for your vehicle. I also read somewhere on the website that they charge to keep your car there during the day, but nobody mentioned that at check-in. I'm not sure I'll get my $150 deposit back, and I still haven't received it. The payment mess started in the first week, when Booking.com canceled my stay. The hotel charged me $1,000 for the first 6 days, which seems outrageous. I have the receipt but don't know how to read it properly. To book the rest of my stay, I had to pay another $150 deposit even though I was already in the room and Booking.com was the one that messed things up. I'm still trying to figure out the $1,000 charge for 6 nights.

The room and location were great, and the price was really good. But despite booking days ahead, I arrived at night and still waited two hours for a room. They just kept saying it would be ready soon, without really explaining what was going on. Parking was another mess. On my last day they said I needed to pay for it and gave me a pass, but I hadn't been told about parking or given a pass at check-in. So I could have been towed the whole time. When I said I wasn't paying because of that, they argued that cars had been towed without the office being informed. The manager eventually came over and said it was fine, and that the towing company does check in with them. I wanted a later checkout after waiting those two hours, but the staff said I'd have to pay. I said no since they'd made me wait, and they insisted nothing could be done. Eventually the manager came over again and said it was fine. The rooms are good, but the staff are disorganized as hell and need to get it together.
