Jeffry and William arrived on time to fix a blind set high up that wouldn’t roll down, and they were friendly from the start. While there, they also cleaned the ceiling fan, which I’d neglected because it was so high and hard to reach. They carefully shifted my heavy couch to get to the window and put it back where it belonged. I appreciated how considerate they were with my things, and the repair and extra attention to detail impressed me. I’d gladly recommend them for home maintenance.

The best part of living in Axis was the location. We could walk all over the city, with lots of restaurants nearby, and between buses, the monorail, and ride-shares, it was easy to manage without a car. There’s also a ZipCar lot 2-3 blocks away on 2nd Ave in Belltown. We often Ubered to the stadiums and walked or scooted back. Climate Pledge Arena is close, which is handy for last-minute tickets and getting to events, though game and concert nights can make getting in and out of the neighborhood frustrating. The Seattle Kraken app and CPA and Seattle Center event schedules helped us get used to it. We lived in a ground-floor loft for four years and enjoyed most of that time, but our final year was marred by a decline in management. I don’t know how things are now, and hope they’ve improved. The apartments are bigger than most rentals, with gas appliances and mostly soundproof adjoining walls. We barely heard our neighbors, and they said they never heard our music or TV. The doors don’t block sound, though, so hallway noise came through. The amenities are limited. The rooftop deck has great views all year and two gas fire pits, but the pits were often broken, and the aging furniture and cushions were dirty. It could be hard to find a clean seat after residents spilled things and left them there. There are two gym rooms, one for cardio with two treads, two ellipticals, a rower, and two bikes, and one for weights with a Smith machine (squat rack). You don’t often see squat racks in apartments here. The gyms got new flooring and wall decals during the pandemic. Security was a serious concern. An organized group broke into our storage unit after being in the building undetected for hours. Packages were regularly stolen, the camera system never seemed to catch anything, and people often got into the garage and broke into cars. I only had to chase a homeless person and his dog out of the hallway once, where they’d been camping. Elevators also broke frequently over those four years, which got annoying. When we moved out, we were charged a full month of utilities and all fees, with no prorating even though our lease ended mid-month.

Jeff took care of my service request really quickly. I’ve lived at Axis apartments for over a year and like the management. They’re responsive, pay attention to detail, and seem trustworthy.

I moved into Axis apartments about a month ago, and everything about moving in has gone smoothly. The management team has been prompt and responsive whenever I’ve raised a concern. The apartment itself is lovely and already feels like home. I’m looking forward to meeting more of the community.
