Days Inn by Wyndham Senatobia

The front desk woman was kind and tried to sort things out, which is why I'm giving this one star. The stay itself was awful. We booked two rooms on Tuesday for a Thursday night stop on the way home from Gulf Shores. We got there around 6:30 and the run-down exterior and rough-looking cars in the back lot had us regretting it already. One room looked like someone had just left: messy bed, beer bottles, caps, and trash everywhere. The other room's key card wouldn't work, and after five or six tries a man opened the door. It had been double booked. I went back to the desk asking for a refund. The woman asked if something was wrong before I even got the door open, and after talking with her manager she showed us two more rooms. One had greasy prints on the mirror and cobwebs with dead bugs near the ceiling. The other was dirty too, with black mold across the ceiling that someone had tried to paint over. I refused to stay and asked for my money back. I'm glad we left, because I would've spent the night worrying about my family and our car in that lot. Read the reviews before booking.

We paid $78, which wasn't cheap, and the room was filthy. There was leftover food in the fridge, a dirty microwave, one used towel and only two clean ones, plus a nearly empty toilet paper roll and just one soap for the whole bathroom. I even doubt the sheets had been changed. When we asked to switch rooms, the replacement they showed us had clearly been used, with garbage all over the bed. They said there were no other rooms available. The woman at reception was attentive and genuinely sorry, but said she had nothing else to offer. This was the only other hotel nearby after we'd already had a bad experience elsewhere. The photos can speak for themselves. It's the worst Days Inn I've seen. They're usually good, but this one was horrible.

The room felt gross. There was hair in the shower and the toilet was dirty, and the sheets had makeup on them. The door didn't close tightly, so the room was cold. The hair dryer looked so nasty I wouldn't touch it. If you have to stay here, expect a dirty place.

My feet were black after I got out of the shower and walked across the carpet, so don't go barefoot in the room. The carpet near the A/C was sticky too, and little flies and gnats kept buzzing around at night. I left the bathroom light on hoping they'd stay in there instead of around my head while I slept. The shower was hot, but the pressure was weak. For the price it's probably okay, but the carpets need a much better or more frequent cleaning. Yuck.
