For $100+/night, this room fell short of what I expected from somewhere described as “basic.” It smelled odd, the doormat was filthy, the pillows were flat, and the bed sagged to one side. The TV only got 3 channels, and there was no way to adjust the heat. Thin walls and ceilings meant we heard the neighbors next door snoring and every footstep from the people upstairs. One thing to know: rooms 5-8 are on the building’s lower floor, hidden from 4th Ave and reached by an alley behind the building. I gave it 2 stars rather than 1 because it met our basic safety and cleanliness standards. We appreciated the bedbug covers on the mattress and box spring.

At least it was handy having a parking spot right outside our room. Inside, the room was missing a glass microwave plate, and there was no toaster or kettle. Some of the drinking glasses didn’t look clean either. The walls are thin, so we could hear talking and the floors squeaking next door. With demand in the area, that seems to be the only reason this hotel can charge what it does.

We have proof that a refund was promised for 1 of our 3 nights because the bathroom didn’t work, but these people took our money and didn’t deliver what was advertised. The place was a dirty mess, with construction dust and dirt everywhere, and we sneezed for days. The walls are paper thin, the water was cold 🥶, there were bugs, no shades, and nobody around to help. At 9 at night, two older ladies couldn’t get into their place and knocked on our door for help, peering through it. We also saw suspicious people who seemed to be doing drug deals, and spotted guns. Please, please, please DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
