The primary beds were comfortable, and breakfast had waffle irons. That was about all we enjoyed. The pullout bed in the lounge chair had a low-quality mattress cover that made so much noise none of us could sleep. Hallways and elevators smelled unpleasant, and breakfast was awful. The eggs were cold and rubbery, the donuts were stale and flavorless, and the seating was awkward, with chairs so low that we were eating at chin level. We came as a large family group, but there was nowhere we were allowed to sit together for pizza or a glass of wine without buying food and drinks from the hotel. We couldn’t even gather outside. It was an extremely disappointing stay.

A coworker-recommended hotel that left me wondering if they were joking. The whole place looked tired and battered, with décor from another century. My room had a funky odor and looked out at heating ducts, which suited the mood of regret. The smell hit as soon as I stepped onto the second floor, a mix of chemical warfare and curry night, and the room was somehow worse. Housekeeping is supposedly every three days, but it felt like you’re left to handle it yourself unless the stars align. The staff seemed friendly in theory, though getting them to look up from their phones was another matter. I just wanted soap and basic hygiene, not loyalty points. Breakfast was a culinary crime and needs immediate intervention. Everything felt slightly sticky, like London public transport with beds.

My room here was huge, more like an apartment, when I spent a few weeks at the hotel many years ago. As a European, I’d put it closer to a 4+ star place. The breakfast was always very nice, and the pool, spa, and gym were actually usable. The rooms, services, and location were all outstanding. They even had a shuttle you could book in advance, which drove you for free within a few miles. It was a very nice experience, and I’d happily visit again.

For a first stay, the room was fine, but parking was limited. A lot of the garage spaces were taken up by old furniture or other items, and the place could use some TLC. I’d skip the hotel breakfast and go to the bagel place down the street.
