Tanglewood Resort on Lake Texoma, an Ascend Collection Resort

There was lots to explore, and we’re already planning to come back next year. We stayed in the recently renovated building, which was very nice and roomy. With three adults, having a king bed and two queens worked out great. The shower was amazing, with strong pressure that still felt gentle.

The rooms could use an update, but we still enjoy staying at Tanglewood Resort, especially when we’re looking to relax and have fun. The staff is always great, and the pools are consistently enjoyable. It’s a solid getaway.

The indoor pool and hot tub are just right in the winter, while the outdoor pool and bars are great in warm weather. There’s something to enjoy in every season. I’d like to see a few updates soon to add some modern touches while keeping the vintage charm that makes Tanglewood Resort feel nostalgic as soon as you walk in. Lake Texoma has unbelievable views, and having the golf course nearby feels like a hidden retreat close to home. I love staying here to relax. I also recommend booking a guided fishing trip on Lake Texoma and seeing what Texoma has to offer. Highport Marina and The Island Bar are my favorite places to hang out.

We’ve stayed here twice as a family, and won’t come back unless ownership changes. It was just bought out, and with fees piling up, you’ll spend money on one charge after another. The food is horrible, and the service just isn’t there. A tour of the place might make you want to leave. Much of this so-called resort needs remodeling. It still feels stuck in the 1970s. Someone with money and experience might be able to bring it back from the dead. The Tequila bar at the top of the tower is very nice, though. I loved it. Both rooms we had came with nails sticking up through the balcony boards, and I cut my foot on one. I told management. When we returned the next year, the nails were still coming out of those same boards.
