Holiday Inn Express & Suites Shreveport South Park Plaza by IHG

The hotel is downtown and convenient to the interstate. We were in town for my Uncle’s funeral and stayed one night. The rooms could use updating, though the staff were very friendly. My only real problem was the room change. I booked two king rooms through my American Airlines app. When my brother decided to come at the last minute, I asked to switch one room to two beds. The hotel said I had to contact AA, and when AA called, they got the same answer, even though the price was exactly the same. I asked again after we arrived and was told AA had to request it, so I gave up. I used to work in hotels and I’m a travel advisor, and this seemed like an easy change, especially since the hotel probably wasn’t even half full. That was the only negative part of the stay.

It was peaceful, private, comfortable, safe, and beautifully clean at the Holiday Inn Suites. I enjoyed the stay and would come back. The one interruption was the train, which goes by several times each night and blows its horn.

We were relieved to hear from staff that this place has a great manager, especially after some other Holiday Inn Express stays in other states over the past few weeks. At check-in yesterday evening, we were first given an accessible room even though we’d booked a standard king. We didn’t want to take it, both because we hadn’t requested it and because someone who needed it might be turned away. The man at the desk then gave us the room shown in our confirmation email. This morning we met Robin in the breakfast area. She was such a sweet, wonderful person and took great care of us.

I’m here while my mom is in the hospital, and the place is comfy and convenient. Robin, the sweet lady in the kitchen, offered to put together a snack bag for us. We really appreciated it. ❤️
