Sheraton Sioux Falls Hotel & Convention Center

The club lounge was the best part of the stay, with great food and snacks, excellent coffee, and employees who made it a great place to be. I enjoyed talking with the men there about idioms last night and horses this morning, and I wish I'd caught their names. One had a unique, cool name on his tag, and the dinner guy was a great conversationalist. Heidi worked hard this morning and kept the lounge in tip top shape. Kudos to all of them, they're top notch. We were club level atrium, and the bar chit chat made it hard to fall asleep, though otherwise it was great. I liked the lounge more than the room. The walls had lots of white smudges, the tub was subpar, and the TV was tiny. The comforter needs replacing, and the pullout couch was absolutely terrible, stained and all springs. The pillows need a revamp too. Without the lounge and its staff, this stay would have been two stars.

The whole hotel felt neglected and unwelcoming, from the dim, depressing lobby to the hallways and rooms. In the second room, the carpet was visibly stained, the walls were marked and torn in places with what looked like renovation notes, and the tub hadn't been cleaned properly. The bathroom fan was extremely loud and couldn't be turned off, which made resting impossible. Our first room was unacceptable: there was hair all over the toilet and the previous guest's trash was still in the bin. When I raised this at the desk, the agent first refused to move me, saying the hotel was full. Only when I insisted on a manager did she find another available room, and she didn't apologize for the oversight. That room was clean, but badly run down. The lack of real customer care added to a profoundly disappointing stay that fell far short of the brand's standards. I don't recommend this property as it is now. Travelers should look elsewhere until it has a full renovation and management overhaul.

The staff were amazing, and room service came quickly, was friendly, and brought great food. My room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. There were a few minor things in the room, but I hadn't booked a brand new hotel. I'll definitely return.

I stayed here twice during the week of Oct 2, and both visits were great. Tayshaun and then Brant at the front desk made me feel welcome and provided excellent service. Housekeeping was friendly and understanding too when I spilled coffee grounds on the carpet. Nice hotel, great staff.
