The room was basic, as expected, and the motel was quiet. Check-in was friendly and efficient, and lots of restaurants and fast food places are just a few blocks away. We were in town for an extended weekend to ski the three local areas. It was our first stay at this motel, though not our first time in the friendly city of Somerset. We have a few favorite places to eat: Summit Diner is cash only and good for breakfast or lunch, while Pine Grill Restaurant is our dinner pick. They're just around the corner from the Turkey Hill, across North Center Avenue from each other. Tailgatz Sports Grill, north on PA601/North Center Avenue near the Giant Eagle supermarket, is another favorite.

For skiing Seven Springs /Hidden Valley / Laurel Mountain with pets, this is the best budget option I've found. I like motels for ski trips, and this one works perfectly: you can pull right up to your door, and there's a fridge and microwave. It's family owned and operated, with super friendly staff.

Cool Beans! 🫘 Comfortable bed, decent-size TV, and a microwave and fridge for snacks. Wi-Fi is available with a password. Safe area, though I always carry something just in case. Arby's is next door for munchies, and Turkey Hill is close by if you need gas. Comfort!

We won't return and can't recommend this location. The manager's reaction as we left was especially disappointing: after we said we could book online at the advertised rate, he looked visibly upset and began slamming things behind the desk. A screenshot attached from that same day shows AAA and senior rates available on the Knights Inn booking page. We needed a room in Somerset, PA for a senior traveler and found local options online. Knights Inn Somerset showed both a senior rate and an AAA rate on its corporate website and Google Business Profile, so it looked like a good fit for our budget. We went to the front desk instead of booking online. The parking lot was completely empty, and the hotel appeared to have no other guests. An older man greeted us, said he was the manager, and declined to give his first name, which felt unusual. We asked for the senior rate listed on the hotel's website and Google listing. He said they “don’t do any special rates” and quoted one higher price. When we asked about the AAA rate shown online, he said they “don’t do AAA rate” and repeated that the price was fixed. While we showed him the hotel's website on a phone, it suddenly said the business was “closed today,” and online booking became unavailable, despite the rates having been bookable shortly before. The quote was more than 10% above the advertised senior and AAA rates. A business listing those discounts but refusing them at the desk while charging a much higher single price is, at best, misleading. The experience was disappointing and didn't reflect the welcoming, honest culture we expect in Somerset.

My husband and I found a home in Somerset at last, but we couldn't have done it without the Knights Inn and the family who run it. We stayed there for over 3 months while looking for a house and work, after falling in love with Somerset and moving up from Maryland. It's the most affordable, clean place to stay that you'll find. The place is dated, but it's very clean, bug free, and the beds are comfortable. The owners are kind, good-hearted people who go above and beyond to make guests feel at ease. My husband became very ill during our stay, our car broke down, and more things went wrong, but having a safe, clean community to be part of helped us get through it all. They really care about the property and their guests. We're grateful to have a home now, though part of me will always miss the Knights Inn. I highly recommend it.
