Americana Inn

For the price, it’s hard to find anything close to this, easily the best room under $100 I’ve found in the bay area. The location is handy, about a 10-15 minute bus ride or 25-minute walk from the San Bruno and South SF Bart stations, a 15-minute drive to SF proper, and 15-20 minutes from the airport. Check-in and checkout were easy. My room was genuinely nice, spotless, and decorated with lots of mid-century character. The furniture, appliances, and fixtures were all in good shape, and there was even a massage chair in the room. I don’t usually write reviews, but I had such a good stay that I had to. Couldn’t recommend it more.

I’ve stayed in hundreds, maybe thousands, of hotels, and I’ve never had a place surprise me with two massage chairs that did a great job relaxing me. I hadn’t expected that when I booked. The room has the retro 1960s look I’d heard about, with a bit of a Las Vegas vibe, and apparently each room is decorated a little differently. The host was nice, and I enjoyed the stay more than the same-feeling hotels around the area. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We needed an affordable, clean, comfortable spot for a weekend wedding nearby, and this suited us perfectly. We really enjoyed the rooms’ atmosphere, especially the retro appliances, and the massage chair was a nice touch. It wasn’t some grand five-star hotel, but that wasn’t what we wanted. If we need to do business in the bay in the future, we’ll definitely come back.

the hotel manager was very nice, and i got more than i expected for the price. the room looked recently updated and had unique decor. the massage chair in the room was great. only downside was some street noise from el camino real.
