Homegate Inn and Suites

We were going to a women's conference at Landers center, which is close by, and the beds were comfortable enough for us to sleep well. Still, there wasn’t a blanket, only a top sheet and duvet. The bathroom door wouldn’t close, let alone lock, because its metal piece was missing. The shower sprayed water onto the floor and toilet, and the top towel in the stack had dust or debris on it. The listing said continental breakfast was included, and there was a kitchen area in the lobby, but they served only coffee.

I went down at 7:47am the day after Valentine night to bring my significant other a small breakfast before she woke up. The front desk lady told me they weren’t serving breakfast, even though we’d seen free breakfast advertised before booking. The shower had rust marks at the bottom and the A/C unit was missing pieces, though those were easy fixes and honestly weren’t a big deal to me.

The beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the outside of the hotel was well kept. It could be a nice place if they fixed a lot of things, but it saddens me to say how many problems we had. Room #103 smelled musty, and the air conditioner took several hours to make the room bearable. The lobby and hallways didn’t feel air conditioned at all. The bathroom door was hard to shut fully, and there was black mold beside the toilet. The TV remote batteries were so weak that you had to stand next to the TV for them to work. At breakfast the milk was sour and the coffee was awful. The walls are very thin too. My relatives in room #123 could hear people in the next room arguing as though the fight were happening in their own room.

I’ve stayed in cheap hotels that were a thousand times better than this. The room smelled like cigarettes, the toilet was clogged, and the bathtub was so dirty it was disgusting to step into for a shower. There was no soap, shampoo, or anything like that, so bring your own or you’ll be dirty. No breakfast at all, not even for purchase. Everything was old, and the bath towels looked like floor cloths. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in my entire life. If you can, go another two miles and stay somewhere else. Believe me.
