There wasn't breakfast, but it was no big deal since there are plenty of good places within walking distance. The pool was a big plus. The location was great, and everything felt fresh and very clean, like renovations had just finished. The room was really nice and clean, and the staff were pleasant. Five stars!

The updated rooms looked great, with working AC, new fixtures, and good soap. I would've been very happy with the stay if not for the renovation disruption. We only found out about the work when we arrived, and construction began right at 7 a.m. The water was shut off without any notice; no one got back to us, though it was on again when we checked a few hours later. The pool, which was the main reason we booked, was closed. We weren't told about any of this after booking, and it wasn't disclosed beforehand. Knowing that, we would've chosen somewhere else. At the time I wrote this in early June, they said the full reopening was about two months away. I expect it'll be a fantastic place once the renovation is finished, and I'd very much stay there again then.

We booked this location for one night on 6/1/25 because of its proximity to Zion NP and the advertised amenities. On arrival it looked like a construction site and a closed business. Someone in the parking lot eventually explained that ownership had changed, remodeling was underway, and the official reopening wasn't until 7/1, though a few finished rooms were being used for reservations. A lot of expected hotel amenities were missing: no pool or hot tub because of construction, no free breakfast, television, microwave, ice machine, tissues, or trash can in our room. The room door also had no extra security such as a chain or deadbolt. When I asked about a partial refund, they told us to take pictures and contact Expedia, our booking agent. The new owner or manager wouldn't issue a refund. It was extremely unprofessional not to tell customers with upcoming reservations about the situation.

My daughter ended up sleeping in our RV, in a parking lot in an unfamiliar city, with her dog. We'd booked two rooms online for five adults after spending the previous night at Watchmen’s campground, and the listing said pets were allowed. At check-in, we were told pets weren't allowed. I also saw other guests with dogs, and when I challenged the man who checked us in, he said they had arrived late. He refused a reimbursement and said I'd have to dispute it with my bank. The trouble started as soon as we pulled up in the RV. A man told us we couldn't park there and tried to send us to another lot so he could maneuver construction contractors. We said no. Three quarters of the property appeared to be under construction. The person checking us in said there was no manager on site and he was only in charge of the remodeling contractors. There were almost no amenities in the rooms: no telephone, ice machine on the property, coffee maker, or lamps with phone chargers. I'd hurt myself on the bed and asked my husband to call down to ask where the ice machine was, only to find out there was no phone in the room. We'd travelled seven states in eight days and everyone was exhausted. We'd booked ahead because the campground was too hot, and though they already had our money, I would've found another hotel if I hadn't needed to look after the others. I saw maybe ten rooms open for booking and three other guests with dogs. The phone number was disconnected, which should've been my first clue this would be a bad experience. I'll remind myself to read reviews more carefully before booking.

The staff were helpful and friendly, the location was convenient, and the surrounding views are beautiful. The lodge itself was a different story. The rooms and grounds need a lot of care. The old lobby could use cleaning and a remodel, and it looked like the ceiling above the fireplace was leaking. I noticed several safety problems around the property. Our sheets were stained when we arrived and never changed during our four-night stay. My children had bites all over them. We thought mosquitoes might be responsible, but a dermatologist confirmed bed bug bites for both children. Beware of bed bugs. The bathroom fan cover was hanging loose with wires exposed, the AC was extremely loud, and the stairs need repairs. Missing and broken tiles made them a serious trip hazard. The hot tub didn't work, the pool was very dirty and uninviting, and there were only two lounge chairs by it. The ice machine was broken too. The grab-and-go breakfast was poor, just a brown paper bag with an ultra-processed microwave breakfast sandwich, an apple, and sugary yogurt. The coffee station was okay. Parking spots are tiny, and we had trouble backing out our truck. I wouldn't stay here again.
