Homestyle Inn & Suites

The pool is closed, the TVs are tiny, and the sink faucet leaks. The toilet in my room was disgusting and hadn't been flushed by the previous guest, and the receptionist was extremely rude. At check-in they also took $20 as a supposed damage deposit, saying I'd get it back if the room was undamaged. That fee wasn't on the website, and I think it's a hidden charge they'll keep. Someone should look into a lawsuit. Don't come here, you'll probably have a better stay in the county jail.

The room was musty and really outdated, and housekeeping came in without knocking. The daytime woman was very rude and didn't even try to be polite. They advertise continental breakfast, but only give it to overnight guests, not weekly renters. I also had to leave a $5 deposit to use the room phone, and it wasn't refundable. The hotel is near downtown, but four others are too. Stay at your own risk.

The room was clean, but I requested non-smoking and got a smoking room instead. The bedding and furniture could use an update. The big flat-screen TV worked well, though there were only a few channels. Being near the hospital was helpful since my mother was there.

The room had several problems: the fridge didn't work, there weren't enough outlets, and one lamp's switch was broken. The desk clerk was cold and unfriendly. When our key card wouldn't open the door, she blamed us before making a new one. Breakfast was very skimpy, just carbs and sugar with no eggs or meat. The bed was passable, but I woke with a sore back. They didn't even have a luggage cart. The clerk said both had been stolen and management wouldn't order replacements, so we had to use a wobbly old laundry cart. This place was a big disappointment. Spend a little extra and go somewhere better.
