Studio 6 Springfield, Va – Washington Dc Southwest

My friend and I had big plans in D.C. for the weekend and needed somewhere cheap, so we took a chance on Motel 6. I'd never stayed at one before and was a little skeptical, but my experience was much better than expected. Chris at the desk was friendly and helpful, and the room was newer and cleaner than I expected. The location and price were perfect. I'd stay there again.

I stayed March 20-22 in a non-smoking room with a queen bed. The room was fine, with a comfortable bed, vinyl plank floor, small table, refrigerator, stovetop, sink and counter, plus an iron and ironing board. I was put in a wheelchair accessible room, which I didn't need, but it did give me more space. The shower head was weak and seemed designed for disabled access, and the curtain rod felt like it might fall off the wall. There was cable TV, but the WiFi was awful, very slow and constantly dropping. My biggest problem was the smoke smell. Smoking and non-smoking rooms were right next to each other, and the hall by my room reeked of cigarette smoke and pot most of the day. I suspect the other floors smell that way too. There was a no-smoking sign within 15 feet of the entrance, but an ashtray bin within six feet, and the lobby smelled smoky as well. The hotel is behind fast food places and businesses and next to the interstate. I didn't feel unsafe, though some people coming and going seemed sketchy. I probably wouldn't recommend staying here. There are better places just across the interstate by the mall.

Jackie helped extend my stay and arranged free upgrades. There’s a big parking lot, with lots of restaurants nearby. The room was fresh and clean, and the maids did a really good job. Thanks to the Motel 6 team.

I feel welcome and appreciated whenever I stay here. It’s a quiet, clean motel in the Springfield area, and the customer service is good. Honestly, I’d recommend it to anyone.
