Super 8 by Wyndham Springfield/Eugene

It was quiet, with good soundproofing, and the sheets didn't smell. The room was clean, even though the building is older. For the price, this is one of the best places we've stayed, and I'd come back. We booked at the last minute late at night during a five-hour drive, stopping in Eugene before continuing. I wondered if the lower price meant a rough neighborhood or a run-down place, but the positive reviews turned out to be right.

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the location central. I had a first-floor room, so I couldn't leave the curtains open. Breakfast was awkward to manage and the food choices weren't inspiring. The usual favorites were limp, especially the waffles, which folded in the toaster after they thawed. No one replaced my towels or cleaned the room on the second day.

With the windows closed, I barely noticed any noise. During busy traffic times, I ran the AC or a fan to cover what I could hear with a window open. It’s just off the Gateway, so getting around was convenient. The hotel was pretty quiet overall, and I had no trouble during my stay.

I’d stay here again if I’m back in town. My room and bathroom were clean, there were no odd smells, and the decor was nice. The front desk girl wasn’t especially enthusiastic, but she wasn’t rude either. For a Super 8, this was nicer than any I’ve stayed in.
