Wildflower Ranch Inn

The Blackberry Blossom room was beautiful, and the artwork there was stunning. My wife and I had a wonderful weekend. The owners were very kind and easygoing, and breakfast was delicious on both days, served at just the right time. It was worth the money, and I’d recommend the place to anyone wanting a relaxing weekend away.

We were here recently for the Kentucky Derby and found it a good choice instead of paying Louisville’s high prices. It’s a lovely bed and breakfast in Springfield, Kentucky, with well-maintained rooms and common areas and sweeping views all around. Bardstown, where we had plenty to do, is close, and a number of Bourbon Trail distilleries are an easy drive away.

Carol and Rich were awesome hosts, accommodating and good at communicating. They were around to help while still respecting our privacy, and staying in their home felt different from being in a hotel. The cherry blossom room was amazing, and the area was great. As a bourbon drinker, I especially liked Limestone distillery, our favorite stop. We had a great time and hope to come back someday.

Rich set a relaxing tone, and the three of us enjoyed sitting outside by the pool in the evening. When bugs appeared, we moved to the ornate common room, where guests can find unusual reading like Abraham Lincoln poems. We stopped at Wildflower for one night to break up the drive to visit our oldest son in Alabama. Rich was a great host, and my husband, son, and I enjoyed hearing stories about his and Carol’s art careers. The house is full of art they made or collected. The sheets felt like sleeping on a cloud. In the morning I found great hair products and body soap, and they’d thoughtfully supplied products for vegans. Breakfast and chocolates topped off a lovely evening and morning.
