I never got past the front window. I had paid in full through Expedia, and the listing did not mention a possible deposit. When I arrived, the desk worker was rude. I gave him my ID and explained I had booked online, but he said there was a $50 cash deposit. I pointed out that the app showed the total costs and fees as paid, and the money had already come out of my account. He just repeated that the cash deposit was non-negotiable. I said I hadn't known about it and couldn't pay, then asked how to get a refund. He pushed my ID back under the glass and said something I couldn't hear. When I asked him to repeat it because I have trouble hearing, he told me to call Expedia. Expedia tried to reach him, but the call was ignored. The voicemail said they were unavailable and to try later, with no way to leave a message. I've never been treated like that before. The whole experience still has me taken aback.

I paid over $80 for the room plus a $100 deposit, but the manager treated us as if we were prostitutes. My partner and I had stepped outside so she could find something to eat, and I pointed toward Love's Truck Stop. On my way back, he rudely demanded to know who and how many people were staying. I told him it was just the two of us, but he assumed the person who had helped with my luggage was staying too. After I clarified that it would be two women, he said I couldn't have any visitors and threatened to call the police and make us leave if even one friend came by. Other guests had visitors. He is the worst person to run a hotel. After moving to a new hotel, I realized I'd left some things behind and called to ask if I could retrieve them. He said anything left in the room was my problem and he wasn't responsible. Ladies, be warned, this evil man thinks women are ladies of the night.

The room did have hot water, and both the heater and TV worked. We were so tired from traveling that we stayed, though otherwise we would have searched for another place. We won't stay at one of these hotels again. As soon as we opened the door, there was a strong cigarette smell, even though they advertise all rooms as non-smoking. In front of the toilet was a large dried puddle of old urine with a footprint in it. That made me question whether the sheets had been changed. They looked changed, but one pillow smelled clean and the other didn't. We put the shower mat over the puddle so we wouldn't step in it, and my wife plans to cover the toilet seat with toilet paper before using it. The freezer was coated in about two inches of ice. The hand soap crumbled when I opened the packet and couldn't be used. We won't shower here or walk barefoot on the carpet, just in case.

I booked a room for talent, and it was filthy. When I went to speak to the front desk, the door was locked, which was a big red flag. They told me, “Hey, it’s cheap, what do you expect.” I said filth isn't acceptable. She offered to refund the unused night for the talent and the next night I'd already booked. I will never use this nasty place again. The shower was really dirty and had hair in it. Luckily, there was no sign of bed bugs, just plain filth. They don't seem to care and act like being cheap means it shouldn't matter. I can see Health and Ice coming to shut the place down soon.
