The location was ideal, with groceries, coffee, and a quick dinner just a short walk away. Even with restaurants and bars downstairs, it never got too loud, and the bed was super comfortable. I stayed in the queen studio for a solo work trip and ended up there for 10 days after a winter storm forced me to extend by a couple of days. The lobby was a great place to work, and I was able to stay in the same room the whole time. Staff were kind and welcoming, checked whether I needed anything, and were easy to reach by text. I appreciated the call before check-in with confirmation and after-hours instructions, and the directions to the after-hours entrance were helpful. There’s no elevator, so getting my luggage upstairs was a little challenging after hours when nobody was available to help. At checkout, though, someone did help with my bags, which was great. I’d recommend Hotel State College and will stay there again.

We had a spacious studio with everything we needed, and the beds made for an excellent night’s sleep. The renovation keeps the heritage aesthetic while adding modern facilities, comfort, and accessibility. The restaurants and staff were lovely and very accommodating. I’d recommend dinner at The Allen, and the lobby bar had delicious cocktails. Wonderful stay, and I’d come back!

We nearly skipped this place after reading a 2-star review, but we’re glad we booked. Ferman showed us the newly renovated rooms, which were beautiful, and his help made a lasting impression. I work in hospitality and could see how far he went to make sure we were happy. The king bed was super comfortable, and the heated toilet seat and soaking tub made the room feel luxurious and homey. Perfect location, and this will be our regular place when we visit our daughter at Penn State.

Marcy in housekeeping deserves recognition for her care and dedication, and Brendyn, the Hospitality Director, stood out for his attentiveness and professionalism. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. Every part of my stay showed care for guest satisfaction. I had an exceptional stay at Hotel State College and will definitely return.

We had a great stay during a PSU football weekend and will definitely be back. The location puts you in the heart of town, across the street from campus, with restaurants, bars, shops, and parking garages nearby. It’s a gorgeous historic building full of charm, with modern amenities. The staff were polite and helpful, and the rooms were well appointed, comfortable, and CLEAN. This hotel has everything you want or need for a State College stay, top tier in every way.
