We got our deposit back, but I wouldn't recommend booking here if you need a reliable place for the holidays. We'd planned a large family gathering for next Christmas and reserved the property a year ahead, paying a deposit. Then our reservation was canceled out of nowhere, with no clear explanation beyond a suggestion that the owner wanted to use it. Now we're scrambling to find a comparable place for our group. Canceling a long-term holiday booking like that puts guests in a really difficult spot.
