The restroom situation was awful. Three of the four were closed, and the one open toilet was full of feces and murky brown water. It smelled horrible and looked like it had been left that way for a long time. I felt sick seeing it and included a photo so people can see for themselves. The rest of the building was just as unacceptable: no A/C, flies around, birds inside, and no working public bathrooms. They say the place is being renovated, but these conditions felt filthy and unsafe for paying guests. Staff were rude and unhelpful, as if this were normal. This hotel should not be open in its current state. Do not stay here.
The common areas could use an update, though that didn't spoil a comfortable stay. My room was clean and looked well kept, with a cozy bed, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and good Wi-Fi. Housekeeping kept it tidy, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. Check-in and checkout were both quick. Comfort Inn in Stillwater is handy for Oklahoma State University, restaurants, and shopping, so it worked well for a campus visit, an event, business, or a trip through town. I thought it was good value for the price and would consider staying again.
The staff were fantastic, and the hotel was really clean. The rooms could use a little TLC. I know the place is moving from Wyndham to Choice, so I can give management some grace during the change. I'll definitely come back.
The pool wasn't ready, and construction noise was going on constantly. The front desk told us workers wouldn't start until 10 a.m. and would finish at 4 p.m., but the banging started at 8 in the morning. We were also charged too much for the stay. The woman at the desk was talking like a baby. If you've got small kids, don't stay here.
Breakfast was a problem too: the orange juice in the lobby tasted fermented. The pool was closed, and lots of bathrooms were out of order because the hotel seemed to be renovating, but the whole place also felt neglected. Our room carpet had a slight urine smell, and smoke smell was in both the hallways and our room. Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby, and even there the signal was weak. A fly kept bothering us in the room. There was loud hammering on the other side of the wall from 8 a.m. into the afternoon. With conditions like these, they shouldn't be renting out rooms. It was a horrible stay, and I probably won't return.
